Hi David and Travis,
Ok, in terms of the size, the file is only about 450 kb and is
1 page when I read it with Adobe. The other three files that I tried
were a bit smaller or bigger and worked fine.
The kicker to this is Softcom Viewer seems to not like the file
either. I get the same results with VoiceOver seeming to crash and
reloading. I am assuming that there is just something with this
particular file.
Take Care

I do get this sometimes. Not very often though, and there seems to
be no rhyme or reason for it. You can try the softcon pdf viewer,
to see if it works any better. That will tell you whether it's the
pdf engine, or just preview.
Also, on occassion I get alternating pages that run together,
spaces are in the wrong place (if at all) and it seems to happen on
odd pages more than even ones. I don't know what causes that
either, My wife says it looks normal on the screen. There's some
pdf files that consistently do this, and *always* in the same
places, so I'm guessing it's something dealing with formatting of
the pdf files, but I've not been able to pin it down to anything
specific.
This happens with my pdf viewer too, so it is something in the pdf
engine or in vo itself.
I've not got around to reporting it to apple yet, because I've
never found out if others have the same problem.
If anyone does, please let me know, so I can have verification of
this, or if it's just my system.
Thanks.

Hi folks,
I haven't used Preview to read PDF files much, but I got a
few today I wanted to give a test run with on my iBook. Oddly
enough, when Preview opened and I tried to read the file, it
sounded as if VO kept crashing. I kept getting the "VoiceOver is
running" announcement, without fail, any time I attempted to
navigate in Preview to read the file. Has anyone encountered this
problem and if so, any particular reason why this might be
happening. I was able to read the document with Adobe on my
Windows box.
Thanks
