Copy and paste *should* work, but to be safe, I'd say do an archive
of the directory, then copy the archive to the other drive and
uncompress it there. This works for me, and it guarantees I get all
hidden files and such.
I believe it uses zip by default, and this should work, but if you're
really concerned about it, try using tar from the terminal, that will
most definitely do the trick.
