Mgetty is a freeware replacement for agetty, and has fax and  
voicemail capabilities.  I don't know if it's been ported to OSX, but  
I did use it on my linux servers for a while, so I know it works.   
It's a bit tricky to get setup properly, but the documentation is  
fairly complete, and if it has been ported, there should be mac  
specific instructions in it as well.
