The Mac operating system has always made a distinction between Return and Enter, unlike Windows. Traditionally, Return is located above the right side Shift key whereas Enter is the bottom right key on the numeric keypad. Many applications treat the Enter key differently than the Return key. For example, when entering a value in an edit field, pressing Return will enter the number and close the dialog, sort of like entering the number and clicking OK in one shot. On the other hand, pressing Enter will enter the value and change it to highlighted text but will keep the dialog open. Further, some applications just use the numeric keypad for commands aside from the qwerty keyboard. I don't know about the question issue being different from Shift-slash. Hmm... gotta look into that.

  Hi!

Ok, I've just been using VoiceOvers keyboard practise facility for
something to do and I've noticed a few things that have me puzzled.
Firstly, on the right of the spacebar you have another command key,
that makes sense but to the right of that is a key which VoiceOver
announces as "enter", is this the same as the "return" key? When the
"FN" key is held down and the "Enter" key is pressed, VoiceOver
announces "Question" as opposed to "Question mark" when the shifted
"/" key is pressed, are these 2 keys the same?
