Yes, you can run Darwinports and/or fink, though I'm a little  
frustrated at the moment because some packages I want to install  
depend on openmotif and openmotif seems to think there should be a / 
usr/X11r6/Lib/bitmap which apparently no longer exists on some  
distributions, including ours!!! If I get to posting this somewhere  
and get a workaround I'll post it for anybody else trying to use fink  
or darwinports. I'm sorry I don't have the urls right in front of me  
but a google should bring them up.
