I haven't played with pdf documents much, but I am curious if you are
reading a document and you VO keys plus Tab, of course hearing
"ignoring next key press" each time from VO, does that take you to
the link? I have had some mail which I've had to do that, and hear
the link anounced. Then hit return which then would bring up Safari.
Otherwise I would just hear "html text." Don't know if that combo
would do anything or not, but at this time don't have any pdf
documents close to play with.

I think you missed the main point of the discussion.
While both preview and softcon pdf viewer allow sighted folks to
access pdf links, voice over cannot. Softcon pdf viewer actually
has loads of options for creating and editing pdf files, but very
few of these things are accessible to voice over. I'm working on
this, but I have no idea why vo doesn't see the links. The program
knows they're there, and my wife can click on them just fine, but I
cannot, even with a simulated mouse click. No clue why, but I'll
do some debugging, and see if I can figure it out.
