When you setup an email account initially, the very first thing it
asks you is what kind of account it is. dot mac is checked by
default, and the voiceover cursor is placed in the next field. You
need to backtab (shift tab) to get to this field. It's a pop-up box,
so just change it to pop3, and you should have no further problems.
Only problem is though, you have to do this when you're setting up
the account. I've found no way to change this once the accounnt is
in place.
