You'll notice that just to the right of the Escape key and just to the left of F12, there are timy spring loded tabs. The range of motion is from back to front, in other words, from the function keys toward the space bar. With your finger nails, pull the tabs toward you and lift. The keyboard will lift up from the back. It's hinged somewhere around the front near the space bar.
