But other than that, I don't use my pc for anything anymore.
The only thing I use my windows pc for is the discussion boards for
my online classes. I don't even use it for the live chats anymore,
since they changed software, I can't use the braille display to show
me what other folks are typing, so there's no point to it. I just
have to get a sighted person to put my mouse in the chat box, then I
can do the rest myself. Of course, this is the same whether I use
windows or mac, so there's no advantage to using windows for this.
I'd not use the windows machine for the discussion boards either, but
unfortunately, the mac won't load the discussion boards at all. It's
apparently a limitation in safari's handling of shockwave and java
plugins. But to be fair, Jaws doesn't see them either. I have to
use window-eyes to get access to the discussion groups, so again,
nothing against apple on this count.
