Scott, Set you Mac to Prefered Audio Device, (in this case, your 
headset), and adjust your headset to almost maximum volume, highs and 
lows.  You may have to play around with the volume, and you may want to 
monitor yourself through the headset.  I have a set of Logitec 
headphones that are USB-driven and I like them a lot.  Richie
