how do you set it up both on the pro version and the free version?
I plan on getting the pro in a couple days
and UI may use both programs for different purposes

Tim is right; I was thinking that was only true on the mac mini.
Apparently line in capability is now built in to audio hijack pro from
rogueamoeba but you can also get it as a stand-alone app and I often use
it that way. Works on ppc and intel. Here's the link to the freebies page
as it can be a bit confusing to find from the main page; line in is a
ways down the page but it's there.
