I believe you are misunderstanding "when I said that I was  
understanding your message"  which is different from "agreeing with  
your message".

In all honesty, I agree with Bruce here that it is not productive to  
anyone on this list   to misconceive my exibited behavior on gaming  
lists annd other situations to where you mmight think you know me.

In reality, when I am working, as an AT Trainer for the state of  
arizona or private companies or individuals, I in no way shape or  
form, conduct myself as you seem to think I do on the email lists or  
other nonprofessional situations.

As a matter of fact Josh, blindtechs.net is a company website for the  
Registered company I own here in Arizona. I in no way shape or form  
relate any of my personal life to my company, such as any business  
owner shouldn't.

therfore, I ask that you maybe seperate the person you think you know  
on lists, from the professional IT/AT person named Gabe Vega.

So, what you've said in your entire message is that you have a  
personal problem with Gabe and that you are unhappy that Gabe has  
taken it upon himself and invested both time and resources to get  
this wickie off the ground.  Believe me when I say that I think  
Gabe is level headed when dealing with people who are critical of  
the Mac.  I can attest to the fact that when I first got my iMac  
back in December of 2005 that Gabe constructively worked with me  
to get me to a point where I purchased and now love my Mac.   
Meanwhile, as I learned I posted critical comments of VO  
functionality, Apple tech support (Reference my December messages  
about Apple wanting to charge me $200 for VO support), and in so  
posting these message got all sorts of flack and almost criticisms  
from less than level headed people who were convinced that the Mac  
was the latest and greatest thing since sliced bread.  I'm happy  
to go dig up those responses I got if it helps refresh some  
memories.  So, before we start slandering anyone on this list  
remember that many people get over zealous and excited about the  
Mac and for good reason.  But, t as some might say, take a pill  
and cool it!

I do not follow.  The BlindTechs.Net wiki is wide open.  One doesn't
even need to register to edit.  One arbitrary domain is as good as
another isn't it?  Unless you get Apple or some already established
organization to sponsor the VO wiki.

a bit of an uphill battle with VO and Mac,

A working wiki should help with that.

Ah, now we get to the matter.  You would deny Gabe this  
opportunity to
redeem himself?  He is offering something up, rather unselfishly it
seems to me.  How is it not in the same spirit that Saqib sponsored

There has been the vacuum for over a year.  No one has stepped up to
the plate until now.  I think we should be quite grateful.

I fail to comprehend why a volunteer wiki site needs to be
administered by someone with a spotless public relations reputation.

I bring this up in the spirit of furthering the use of Macs among
the blind, and none of this is intended as a personal attack.

I and relieved Gabe was not insulted.  I am inclined to reward those
who do the work rather than those who are polite and kind and but  
not
actually useful.  I suppose the world needs both types.

Okays, write a wiki article or two!  I wrote three new ones today.

and awareness and use of VO extended, but we need to consider  
all these things.

I am sure you have the best intentions.  We need more than  
intentions.
I also recognize  that, since I have drawn more than my fair  
share of
criticism, I can empathize with Gabe more than most.

If people put just a quarter of the effort into the wiki as they are
willing to spend posting to MacVisionaries, the Wiki will come
together amazing quickly.

Unlike the listserv archives, it is reasonable to expect that the VO
wiki can actually be easy to find stuff in.  I hate to admit it, but
spelling and grammar can all be corrected after the fact as the site
evolves.
