Hi David. Yes, so I am discovering. Takes me back to my early DOS days. I really must get back into console apps, they have a lot to offer. I guess I've just got lazy with the advent of the GUI. Was a time when I'd have sworn by CLI apps. Thanks, I'm going to get to grips with this stuff again. VO seems to work quite well with it. Although on the whoole, I have found that VO has become a little sluggish since the 10.4.7 update.

Hi Gordon,

You can get to everything on your system from terminal and yes, if you type:
"ls"
without the quotes at the $ prompt and press enter, you can see all the folders under your home folder. If you type:
"cd /"
without the quotes, you will be at the root level butt unless you have enabled root and are logged in as root, when you type:
"ls"
not everything will show up.

To get a list of commands, type:
"help"
without the qquotes at the $prompt or:
"man bash"
there is plenty of power here.
