What am I doing wrong?
You have to have the document formated as plain text *before* you
paste. This works with other text editors besides TextEdit, but the
following example assumes TextEdit is already running and the Finder
is focused on the folder you are interested in and you want all the
files.
Switch to Finder.
Command-A to select all files.
Command-C to copy selected files.
Switch to TextEdit using Command-Tab as needed.
Command-N to open a New document in TextEdit.
Command-Shift-T to Make Plain Text (assuming that is not your default
preference).
Command-V to paste file names in as text list.
Now, what if you want the dates or size or file types? I have no
idea. I would ask Travis how do it from Terminal!
