The instructions that came with your DSL modem might have been for Windows but they probably would have worked for the Mac. The modem probably came with something called a crossover cable. You should have been able to connect that directly from the modem to your Mac. No point in doing it now that you've got the wireless connection . Although, you might get faster downloads if you plugged the crossover cable directly into your Mac. That depends on how fast your DSL connection is. Your internet connection is like a hose -- the flow depends on the narrowest part. You might have a really fat hose on your end but if there is a kink farther back it doesn't help.

There is probably a wire running from the DSL modem to the wireless hub. If you disconnect that from the wireless hub and plug it into your Mac, it should still work. And it will probably give you a slightly faster internet connection.
