Just curious, does this problem show itself when running off ac? Did
you happen to set any schedule in engery prefs with regard to when
the machine wakes or sleeps etc.
Just a couple of thoughts. You may also wish to go into the Library
folder on the root of your drive, Library/Preferences/
Systemconfiguration and delete com.apple.autowake.plist
com.apple.powermanagement.plist and see if this helps.
I can't swear this will help correct your problem, but I have done
this and resolved an issue. Please note that Tiger will rebuild these
files so there is no harm in removing them. Just drop them in the
trash or on your desktop until you see if it helps.

last night, as I was using my computer on the battery, it just

hours and 51 minutes of time to use the computer before the battery
was to actually die. The computer actually shut off shortly after
I looked at this in my energy preferences, and I was not able to
get it to log into the system without plugging it in first. It
would only go as far as the initial first screen where it plays
that big f sharp major chord, and then just shut off. I had tried
to calibrate the battery a few nights before as it had been doing
the same thing. Oh yah, also, when I pressed the button on the
battery, the lights indicated that it was about half full, 2 to 3
of 5 total lights were illuminated .
What is going on all. Is it possible that I just didn't calibrate
the battery properly, or is my harddrive crashing? I tried to run
my battery flat and leave it for 5 hours, then I plugged it in and
left it for more than 2 hours after it said fully charged. Oh
yeah, and I did charge it up at the beginning before flattening
it. I was using it the whole time with the exception of the 5 hour
flattening period.
Thanks for any help
