last night, as I was using my computer on the battery, it just turned
itself off for no apparent reason. It was as though the battery were
completely dead, but I was able to turn the system back on to see
that the battery level was at 61% and that I had 2 hours and 51
minutes of time to use the computer before the battery was to
actually die. The computer actually shut off shortly after I looked
at this in my energy preferences, and I was not able to get it to log
into the system without plugging it in first. It would only go as
far as the initial first screen where it plays that big f sharp major
chord, and then just shut off. I had tried to calibrate the battery
a few nights before as it had been doing the same thing. Oh yah,
also, when I pressed the button on the battery, the lights indicated
that it was about half full, 2 to 3 of 5 total lights were illuminated .
What is going on all. Is it possible that I just didn't calibrate
the battery properly, or is my harddrive crashing? I tried to run my
battery flat and leave it for 5 hours, then I plugged it in and left
it for more than 2 hours after it said fully charged. Oh yeah, and I
did charge it up at the beginning before flattening it. I was using
it the whole time with the exception of the 5 hour flattening period.
Thanks for any help
