his happens with all folders when trying to open files with the open with or
when trying to navigate folders with comand i feature
not sure about the folder tool bars where do I check this at?

is this the case with all folders, have you tried ending the interaction
with the list with shift-vo keys-up arrow? What happens if you use vo
keys with left and right arrow to read the list? have you tried
relaunching the folder with force quit? is the toolbar visible? is
folder actions visible? if the answer to the two questions above is
yes, see if turning them off will fix the problem. We need to know more
about when this started happening specifically, what happened just prior
to the change.

as well as flac files, and possibly other stuff as well. You can find
