Hi Rich, You wrote:
Does VoiceOver currently work with Java apps?
I don't know if it's possible, but in general it doesn't seem many do. I just tried Azurius and Jedit, neither of which I could do anything with (including bringing up the item menu).
Also, are there any plans for making ajax apps accessible?
AJAX isn't intrinsically inaccessible with VO, but it can be *very* tricky to use. I was just playing with my personalised Google home page, and as per the JavaScript events research Juicystudio is doing, the JavaScript aspects work but sometimes send you off to the top of the page, and actions often are not announced. It is certainly *possible* to use AJAX, but the behavior is quite difficult. NB: I don't think using Safari or Firefox would make much difference to AJAX, Safari is very capable. However, at the moment Firefox isn't usable at all with VO. I have noticed some questions from Firefox developers on Apple's accessibility list, so it is reasonably likely that Firefox will be accessible with VO to some degree in the future. Kind regards, -Alastair PS: If you reply to previous emails when starting a new topic, many people may miss it as they use 'threaded' view to read lists. I found this email in the "Reordering columns in Mail" thread.
