Is There a System Restore Feature?

The subject line of this message pretty much sums up this question for 
me.  Does the Mac have a System Resore feature, and does it work a 
little differently from Windows, and if so, in what way.  Thanks.

up on me as I was installing software updates; my Internet connection 
was interrupted while doing maintenance work on the fiber optic cables. 
This was unbenownced to me.  Therefore, I didn't have any advanced
