Hello,
Of course this is assuming that VO will read all the functions and that it will work better than it does in iTunes.

I could see the touch screen working for phone functions. I don't think it would be too hard to remember what parts of the screen to touch, especially if as you all suggest, the unit would have you confirm by tapping the screen. You'd probably want to still have a blue tooth keyboard for e-mail, and any other time the on-screen keyboard is present. The onscreen keyboard might be usable, but typing anything long might be cumbersome. But if they did include voice over, I could see it being quite popular in the blindness community. Even at the $499 price tag, it's probably still cheaper than buying another phone and then moble speak or whatever. So I guess the question is, we've got six months until release, what do we do? Should we all e-mail apple, set up a petition, something else?

I think that, based on the conversations on this list, that the iPhone could be made very accessible, but the question remains whether it will or not. I suggest we contact Apple and let them know our interest. There's still six months until it is rolled out. That might be enough time to make a difference. Maybe not, and i don't hold out high hopes, but I think we ought to try. I would love a phone like this if VoiceOver was included.
