Yes and a whole lot of other issues as well.

So, in short, you're saying the speed depends on which VPN client
they're using? Thanks.

VPN are tricky business on any platform Mac included. The Mac has a
built in VPN client but some VPN require their own. I'm on a VP to my
workplace from home and have never found it to be slow. There are so
many variables with VPN that it is just not possible to answer the
question one way or the other.

Thanks. I've also been told by my girlfriend, whose name is Hannah,
that
one of her lecturers owns a mac and apparently the VPN client is slow;
is that true, or is it because this particular lecturer may own an
earlier Mac as I suggested to her. Thanks again.

At first I used Linksys wireless system, but continually had problems

not have problems any more with the connection dropping.

Subject: Wireless networking

Hi all,
My girlfriend, who's not on this list, uses a Windows laptop. Her
college has implemented wireless networking, using a VPN client to
authenticate the connection. However, she is having terrible
problems
with the network, and she's having to take her laptop to the
college's
technical support office to get the wireless issues fixed. On a mac,
what problems, if any, would she have in terms of wireless
networking,
or airport, as the mac would call it, using a VPN client? I know my
friend, who's on this list, will be using a VPN client to connect
to his
wireless in France, but I was wondering in general that's all.
If you have any more queries on this matter, I will greatly receive
them. Thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you.
