Hi Fred,

Unfortunately, I tunes is not overly accessible, but I know that  
certain list members have tricks to get around i Tunes. i can help  
you with your dialogue  problem though. You need to press control  
option shift and space instead of the usual control option space.

As for the session playing, the focus always seems  to be on the  
music that is being played, so if you highlight all the songs when  
you are finished listening to them, and then press command backspace,  
you will be asked if you want to delete them. The next time you play  
a playlist in Itunes, you'll be playing the playlist and only the  
playlist.
