Hi David and John, >Thanks for this info. When you say print, are you saying to actually >print it out on paper?
No, you don't have to actually print. You can tab over to preview if you like. It may be easier to read all the labeled columns and entries in preview without having to do this in iTunes. However, you can also add pdf files to your iTunes library, and this is a neat way to keep track of playlists and information about backups. When you import pdf files into iTunes, you can tag them with title, artist etc. So, for example, if you have a recorded a class lecture and added it to the iTunes music library, and want to store your class notes for it in a pdf file, you could add the pdf file to the music library with the same tags. Then when you search your Music library both entries will come up. If you double click on the pdf notes, they will open in Preview (or whatever your default application is set to for that file -- in case you want to use Adobe Acrobat Reader). PDF files will not sync to iPods, so you don't have to worry about taking up space on players. >Wonderful instructions but I have a question so not to clutter the list, is >there a way where you can search for podcasts or is the only way putting >the url to subscribe? > (I'm answering John's question here since it is of general interest). The only way I've found to do this accessibly is to bookmark the url for iTunes Power Search of pocasts: http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZSearch.woa/wa/advancedSearch?mt=2 (the mt=2 selects podcasts, mt=3 is audiobooks, mt=1 is music). If you go to this address in your browser, iTunes will come up in the podcast Power Search window. Under iTunes, do a command-option-f to get to the Search text field, then tab twice. You'll get the unlabeled fields for Title, Author, and Description. If you type in any keywords there, you'll get a list of podcasts that match the criteria. For example, if I leave the first field blank, tab, type in 'PRI' for the Author, and carriage return, I'll get a number of programs for Public Radio International that will show up in the Songs window. You should be able to tab over and hear "Songs Outline". I type a command-a and up arrow to start at the first entry and am able to play the most recent podcast of each listed subscription by pressing space bar. I haven't tried to subscribe this way -- you probably need to have cursor tracking on or mousekeys so you can press the subscribe key when you right arrow to the column where it says free. If you use the podcast search, be sure to clear each of the three search fields that you can tab to before you carriage return since VoiceOver won't tell you that there is text in the fields from previous searches. HTH Cheers, Esther
