If you have use the f1 - f12 keys for software functions checked
under keyboard in system prefs as it is customary to do when using
vo, there are two ways you can do this. press and holdd fn while
exploring the keys on thhe right end of your keyboard such as . , / p
o etc. I could not find a spoken or typed hash key bbut did find a
star. Iyou can also turn on numlock by holding fn and pressing f6.
this though disables the restt of the alphanumeric keyboard till you
press it again.
