Hi,

You can move around inside the terminal with vo and arrow keys, but it would be much more desireable if you could get instant feedback. There is something you can do to get this to somewhat happen. We have a command called"say" and there is a way I don't have it right off hand to tie it to the console so that the output is spoken almost automatically as it is captured by the pipe.

Greetings,

I have recently made the switch to the Mac, and I am writing for some advice on using Terminal with VoiceOver.

As I work as a UNIX systemadmin, quite a lot of my job requires me to access systems remotely via SSH. I presume that the best way to do this is to open a terminal window on the Mac and ssh to the remote host from there.

The only difficulty is that I get no speech feedback inside the terminal window.

Is this normal behaviour, and if so, are there any alternative ways of having VoiceOver friendly SSH sessions?

Any comments or suggestions greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Mitchell
