I can remember during the 1980's, when Apple had the best tech support for blind users, period. I would like to think that they are striving to recapture the market they lost in the late 1990's, and there wasn't that much fanfare with speech technology back then. In 1985, when I had my daughter with me for the summer, she was so fascinated with the speech synthesizer I was using with my machine, she would listen to what was coming over the screen, and she's fully sighted. At that time, she was twelve; now, at thirty-four, she made the switch to Mac this past January. And what's that saying about the apple falling not far from the tree? Lol... Richie, with a smile.
