Here are a few reasons to install Linux.
1. The Orca screen reader for Linux is able to read the Open Office
spread sheet program. I haven't played with the spread sheet
application that much, but I know you can move from cell to cell and
have Orca read what is in that cell.
2. Open Office can read .ppt documents, so you can also read these
with the Orca screen reader.
3. Orca is pretty good at reading Gnome-terminal automatically. This
is good if you use Telnet or SSH. Right Now, using Telnet or SSH are
annoying to use with Voiceover.
Original message:
I have been curious why one would also install linux on a mac. The bsd
unix that is the mac operating system has the same shells as does linux in
terminal mode. It is really in the shells that one interacts with either
unix or linux and to the casual user are the same.
