Well firstly, I'm far from an expert on Itunes but allot of factors
come into play here, you're probably better "Adding songs to library"
with command-O from Itunes.
Next, how are the ID3 tags set in your tracks?

Winamp allowed you to turn this behaviour off and only sort by the
pathname.
