Hi,
I use the desktop also. The trouble with the doc is that you can't access
an app quickly in it, you have to tab around and that's not good enough is
it?

Each to their own of course, I cannot see any advantage in using the Doc
when I want to get to things or launch things quickly, when I boot my
machine then the Desktop is the first thing that I see by default so to
me at least, it makes sense to have aliases to the folders or
applications I most frequently use there.

Hi Dane and all,
Wow. That's very interesting. I love the doc and use it for launching
all my common tasks like Mail, Safari, TextEdit, Parallels, and so on. I
can't imagine not using it.

My desktop just has aliases to my most used tasks including Mail, Safari
etc and I admit to hardly ever using the doc, it was much the same when
I used Windows, I used the Desktop but never the start menu much, I
think of the Doc in Tiger as much the same as the Start menu on Windows
XP.
