Yes indeed, I've also made this suggestion.

Hi again dane,
That's what I thought. I did ask the author to look into it but he
said there's no promises, n other words, we'll see. If he doesn't do
this then its rather a waist of time for large files.

No, there is nothing like a "jump to time" option as yet, the
least the author could do is allow us to move in big chunks with
say the page-up and down kesy, I've suggested this all to him, yep
its damn annoying. You can however go to the start and the end of
your file easily enough so that's at least something, ctrl-left
arrow to the start and ctrl-right arrow to the end.

Hi Dane,
Is there a way to navigate large files? I have this problem with it
a lot of the time. Left and right arrows only move by small
amounts but it would be nice to enter a time in minutes and have
the cursor placed even roughly there. Is this possible?

No its not but on the other hand it has things that Gold Wave and
Sound Forge don't which in some ways make it unique, firstly it
supports cue files which are extremely affective. Second, its
real- time editing facilities considering the outlay are
excellent, for example you can scroll to the point where you wish
to say create a split or a selection and press t to split exactly
where the play head is or say press I to start the selection,
your actions and the status of your editing is easily read on
screen with Voiceover.
And thirdly (and perhaps most importantly), Fissian has not been
around as long as other software for the PC so given this fact I
think the developers of same have done an excellent job. No,
Fission isn't perfect but with the help of users and good
feedback it will I'm sure become an even greater piece of
software than it already is, I've had a few snags I admit but the
developers have ben keen to hlep out when I've contacted them,
that says allot for a software package in itself.

Fission is good, but I don't think it quite compares to
GoldWave. I know some have used Sound Studio, but I haven't had
a chance to try it yet.
