Hi Josh,
I really like this feature in Safari, although sometimes I've noticed
that sometimes VO doesn't announce the filed name? I daunt know if it
is something to with VO, or whether the page itself is at fault. Have
you noticed this yourself.
I would also agree with what you aid about Windows screen reading
solutions, but could you please give me an example of what you meant
when you said "... WIndows users are so used to their screen reader
doing everything for them"

I think another problem is that WIndows users are so used to their
screen reader doing everything for them, that some VO users don't
look beyond VoiceOver for answers. They assume that if they can't
find a VO command to do it, it can't be done.
