Thanks, I didn't know where to look for the information. Might there be a
way to set a situation up so that my Mac figures out it hasn't got the BBC
realplayer plug-in and starts downloading that plug-in? I checked inside
of realplayer itself and realplayer so far as I've found has no menu
provision to download extensions created for it inside of realplayer
itself. This is strange since internet explorer and every other piece of
office software and all email packages from Microsoft as well as
Visualbasic all have provision to download add-ons and firefox and
openoffice have provision to download extensions and Netscape has
provision to download plug-ins. Would appear to be an industry-wide
standard. add-ons; plug-ins and extensions are three different names for
the same thing, added software capability.

Hi Jude. What you want to do when encountering a download window like that
in safari is interact with the list control. In there, you'll find one or
more group controls. Interacting with the group will show you things like
how much of the file is downloaded, and the time remaining. This seems
confusing at first, but it's a nice way of doing things if you have multiple
downloads in progress.

I downloaded and installed realplayer and verified that it works. I think
there was a realplayer plug-in that was also supposed to download from the
BBC too but that didn't happen. What did was a window came up in safari
that said 1 download tabbing off of that I found a blank space tabbing off
of that I found a control that said list, and tabbing off of that I found a
clear button. When safari landed on this dialog it simply stalled there
and didn't do anything else. I might be able to use realplayer and have it
search for plug-ins and maybe download this one if it's available.
