Yep, that's exactly what I'm saying. Be ware that its quite possible that
the Mac won't find any additional software but it will find enough
software to allow the computer to print with your printer. I have 3
printers here and the Mac found each one in tern when I connected them,
again I say, confirm this in Printers and Faxes.
there's no doubt about it, others can learn from the design of the Mac,
it intergrates with hardware flawlessly for the most part etc.

You should be able to yes, your Mac should automatically find the
printer, you can check this under the Printers and Faxes in System
Preferences.
