Cool then I did good. Do you know if Bootcam will allow more than one OS boot? I want to boot Vista and XP. I know they will not work at the same time but can I choose from three or more OS's? I know about virtual ones I just want all three working normal and then run virtually under my Mac. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dane Trethowan" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "General discussions on all topics relating to the use of Mac OS X by theblind" <[email protected]>

Depends on what you want to do, I initially bought my Imic because the first mac I had that being my Ibook didn't have an audio input so I was able to use the Imic to connect the Ibook to my sound system. If you're planning to use Skype or you want a good quality headset to listen to audio through then a good pair of USB headphones with microphone will do just fine for this sort of thing.

What will I gain by getting a Imic verses USB headphones?

No its not, an Imic is a round disc like object if you like with a USB cable coming out of it which plugs into the USB port of a computer whether that computer be Windows based or not doesn't matter as Imics seem to work on both. On the disc are 2 sockets and a switch, one socket is a line-in/ microphone input whilst the other is a line-out socket, the switch switches the input between line-in and microphone modes so if you like, an Imic is an external sound device. What you have are USB headphones.

OK so I got this Logitech headset with a mic attached. It comes with a USB connector with two slots for a Mic and headset that plugs into the USB connector. Is this a Imic?

An iMic is a very hand bit of hardware that give you a line in and a line out from a USB port. here is the link: http:// www.griffintechnology.com/products/imic/

I own an iMic and can tell you that it performs perfectly a real handy device.

Have you tried ejecting then unplugging the Imic while still in Windows?

Hi Everyone!
Ok, I installed my Fusion Windows XP Virtual machine on Friday and overall I'm extremely happy with it var one annoying thing which I'd like a bit of advice on. I have an Imic connected to a USB port on my Mac and Windows running under Fusion has no problem whatever in recognising it, the problem starts when I shut down my Virtual Machine, I cannot get Tiger to recognise the Imic unless I restart the computer, does anyone have any suggestions on how I can avoid having to restart the system? I've tried unpluging the Imic but this makes no difference at all, a plain restart seems to be the only option at the moment.
