Can some one explain widgets, where to find them, what they are and how to
use them?

I don't have any idea what you're refering to here. Could you explain
more fully? You can go in and out of Dashboard with
F12...Control-Option-Command-= does absolutely nothing here. *confused*
To open a widget the VO-F2 combination works just fine for selecting
them, or opening the Widgets bar to turn some on or off.

Having done some research, I found command-option-control+= toggles the
widget bar on and off in dashboard and command+r runs a selected
widget's image. Also interestingly, java-ui widgets according to one
writer appear inaccessible that was Thomas Carson over on
accessibility-dev. He didn't make mention of using the java access
bridge package though so unless that was made specifically for jfw he
might have some luck trying it.

That's true, they do keep running until you close them. You can see
them in the activity monitor.

I think it is better to close them anyway. After all, from what
someone told me in the store, the dashboard widgets keep on running
otherwise at startup. It's best to run them as and when you need them.
