I would suggest moving him over to using just speech. I have sight on the low end of sightedness and it changed my life. I get a better picture of the screen if I do it with speech rather than trying to strain to see. Plus it gives him the advantage of not having to have to see if he has to trouble shoot. Keep him encouraged and tell him the good that the blinder doing. HTH
