So you use the inbox ffor the main box and the mail boxes to actually read your mail instead of arrowing through the inbox messages?

All a Smart Mailbox is is a "Saved Search" that you can perform at any time. The search is also performed when Mail is launched. As an example, I have a Smart Mailbox called New that finds all the messages in all my mailboxes that are unread and have been received in the last 3 days.

What do you mean by a dynamic search feature? I see the same messages in my inbox that I see in the smart mailbox. Can you give an example of how smart mailboxes are useful?

Check out Rules in Mail Preferences. Also, Smart Mailboxes don't make a copy of a message, they're just a dynamic search feature in Mail.

Listers I want to filter my mail to the point that when a message comes in it goes to a certain mailbox. I set up a smart mailbox and it mirrors the messages that meets the criteria that I defined, but I basically have two copies. One in the Inbox and the other in the smart mailbox. I know if I delete messages from one the other updates the change, but I want the message to go to the mailbox without two copies and without me having to do anything. Your help is greatly appreciated.
