I will keep this in mind when the signal is low. I am usually in the apartment so my signal is four bars. I notice that my Dell will say it is 100% and my Mac some times have 3 bars instead of 4, but I guess that is the nature of the beast.

I know what this means in theory, but I haven't found this to make
a difference in my reception, even though I have it checked on
my G4 PowerBook.  It's supposed to be a kind of burst mode
connection option, if I recall correctly.  In instances where your
reception is marginal, this is supposed to make it easier to
stay connected.  The new Intel MacBooks and MacBook Pro
models are supposed to have much better AirPort reception than
the PPC laptops, so you might be able to experiment.

Other users have reported not seeing a difference when this
setting is used, or, in a few cases, getting overall worse reception.
