Office 2004 was released is, well, 2004 so it's getting a bit long in
the tooth as they say. I think VoiceOver wasn't released until OSX 10.4
which came out in April 2005. So that would mean Office was released
before VoiceOver. That said, a new version of office is slated for
January 2008 and I would expect that one to actually work well with
voiceover.
