Hi. You probably don't want to delete files from your itunes folder
using the finder. A better way is to find the file you want to get
rid of in itunes itself and do a command delete on it. Itunes will
remove the entries for that file out of its library, and then ask if
you want to send the file to the trash.

hi all;
i use vonage for my phone service, they email my voice mail messages
to me. When i'm two lazy to grab a phone or launch skype to call in
to the voicemail service, i download the attachment:
"voice-mail-message.wav"
and it saves it under
/michaelbabcock/music/unknown artest/unknown albam/voice-mail-
message.wav
this isn't the problem, i go play the voice mail fine, then quit
itunes and send voice-mail-message.wav to the trash. The next time i
go open itunes and try to play all my music it comes up with
the file voice-mail-message.wav can not be found, would you like to
find it?
and i have a cansole or choose button.
So needless to say itunes wont play all my music. What i was doing
was when ever i did this i would remove the itunes library and then
re create one. That became a pain because i kept having to re set up
all my playlists.
There has to be a way to validate my library and remove items that
are no longer located on my hard disk from itunes. I ask of all of
you, how might one do this?
thanks and i hope you understood the problem.
thanks
