Screen Sharing

I just tried to share my screen with someone.  He ws able to look at  
my computer, but when he tried sharing his with me I couldn't see  
anythig.  At first I thought it was because VoiceOver was not on on  
his computer, but that didn't appear to be it.  So how do I get it to  
work, or is it only really good for Intel Macs?
