What would be real nice is if they offered shortcut commands for things
other than menu items. For instance, there are many times when a program
does not have appropriate keyboard command sfor moving focus to a certain
part of the UI (like focus on document area or focus to contacts panel etc).
Has anyone tried AppleScript yet on Lepoard? I played with it a bit on
Tiger, but the dictionary dialog in the script editor application which
allows you to see what objects are exposed by an application (so you can
apply script to them) was not very accessible. In any case, moving focus
etc might be more easily done via Applescript, which means you could add
keyboard commands to do useful things etc.
Just my two cents.

Hello Michael,
To set up a shortcut for a given application, open System Preferences,
Go to the Keyboard&Mouse pane,
Select Keyboard Shortcuts,
Click the Plus button to the right of the Outline,
A dialogue box will appear,
Click on All Applications,
Select the application for which you want to create a shortcut by
pressing Return,
You must type the exact title of the menu item as it appears in the
application,
Move to the Keyboard Shortcut field and enter the key combination you
wish to use,
Note that it does not check for conflicts with other commands you may
have created,
Click Add and you will be returned to the Keyboard Shortcuts tab and you
can add more if you want to.
Cheers,
Anne
