I think the real strength of Time Machine is supposed to be in recovering files, though it also certainly can do a full restore. Once superduper is fully compatible with Leopard, and once I don't need tiger for anything, I'll probably continue to use superduper. Admitedly I've only once tried to recover an individual file using Time Machine but I have not figured that process out yet. In fact, after my original installation I again re-installed and I am not yet even running Time Machine because on the first install on my ppc Mac Mini with 1 gigabyte ram it tied things up so I couldn't function well at all until it finished. However, I probably will try using it again at some point. It's really good to know about the settings problem; I'm wondering why it unchecked those.
