Also don't forget you can run Linux, Windows, and other OS's with your
Mac as well.

You are correct, its important to make light of the good, the bad,
and the ugly. I can tell you taht I've been using Leopard long
enough to determine that in fact I can carry out day to day tasks on
my Mac. True it will be a real plus when the Iwork suite of
applications or microsoft office become fully accessible. However,
for browsing the web, Safari does a reasonably good job, maybe not
perfect, but it does do a good job. I can tell you that there are
sites out there that are designed to work best with Internet
Explorer and that in and of itself creates problems. Now for e-mail,
no problem at all, most third-party applications for working with
audio, burning CD/DVDs and the like, work very well, Itunes, no
problems, its I'd say at about 97 percent accessible and maybe even
more than that, basic word processing tasks are not a problem with
TextEdit, and there much more that can be done on the Mac.
Is the Mac perfect, of course not, no os/platform is perfect, but
its certainly in many way a better choice than windows on the PC
platform. I can speak from experience cause I use windows at work, I
don't have much choice at this point and I use the Mac at home
exclusively. I've also used Linux so I feel I have a pretty good
handle on what works and what does not. No one should feel as though
they can not voice their opinions on this list, you just have to
learn to ignore thos who feel otherwise.
Of course if you have an issue, be prepared to explain clearly why
there's a problem etc. It does no one any good if you just say
VoiceOver and Safari don't work because. You have to backup your
statements with facts, it will help others in the end understand and
perhaps assist you in resolving issues if you take the time to
explain why.
So, in the end, yes, Leopard is fine, it is a very worthwhile
investment and will handle most tasks you may need. Of course in the
end you have to decide what will work best for you.
Good luck,
