server, install the IM Gateway plugin, and connect to that.

What I've discovered so far to save some time.
On the download page for this software, the links are a bit
stuffed. In the choose platform bit, pick the third index link
down, and the link to download the dmg file appears on the same
page *under* those three index.jsp links.
Once you've run the install package, go to
http://127.0.0.1:9090
to set up the server. Most of it looks straight forward, just make
sure you select internal database like it says in the article.
Install the IM gateways plugin from the admin console.
I'm afraid that's as far as I've gotten at the moment, but the
admin console seems pretty accessible, or at least I haven't had
any problems so far, anyway.
As I've said, this is going to take some work at first, but I
think if it works, we should be able to come up with a step-by-
step that should make it workable for most people who want to try
it. I'd've kept a lid on it until I'd worked it all out myself,
but I know a lot of you've been trying to do some of this, so I
decided against it.
