Cara, which version of GarageBand were you using? I tried the version that
came out a few months ago as part of iLife-2008. It was better than the 2006
version, and to be fair I did not try recording. However, I couldn't select
any loops (at least not reliably), and I couldn't figure out how to get the
loops I did find onto the time line.

Actually, bad news. It looks like most of the features in Garage Band are
NOT accessible. You can't tab to most of the buttons and navigation is
non- existent. Besides these minor short comings, it works well for
sighted folks. Come on Apple, at least make your own programs a little
bit usable by us blind folks.
