Hey Tom. Sorry to hear that. I was fairly sure LilyPond was some sort of system where you could effectively write out the notes in any text editor and then run the program to convert it to something else like a PDF file, cause that's what the wikipedia page sounded like - see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LilyPond
