When I had issues where I could not receive mail, I deleted and recreated 
the account.  I too had no idea what the problem was but removing and then 
recreating it fixed it.  One more thing you might try.  Under mail boxes, 
there is a take all accounts on line item, press enter on that and see what 
happens.

which is very strange, cause i have it checked to leave them on the
server.
