Colloquy is my favorite but there's a bug about the VO inaccessibility,
and
I'm thinking about working on that but it's easier said than done.
There's
a fair number of clients though, if you want to try them out - xchat aqua,
irssi, bitchx, conversation, linkinus , snak and ircle are the ones off
the
top of my head.
